Premiere of the first magazine in Budapest

The EM GUIDE #1, the first printed magazine of our network is now available online and in various cities including Budapest. We have accompanied the Budapest premiere with a cosy event: a panel talk and a concert.

The panel discussion brought together representatives of several local music media actors: Lucia Udvardyova from Easterndaze, Kornél Kilián from KERET blog, András Rónai from Recorder, and Bálint Antal from Telex After. The conversation was moderated by Péter Bokor, the general coordinator of the EM GUIDE project and founder/editor of MMN Mag.

The panel discussion explored whether conventional (text-based) music journalism still holds relevance today, what kinds of content contemporary audiences are looking for, and what role modern journalism plays. We also questioned whether addressing broader industry issues, such as AI-generated music or the lack of venues for live music in a given city represents a desired direction for music journalism.

The talk was followed by a concert by Esteban de la Torre, who is featured in EM GUIDE #1, too.
