Workshop on Research Methods with Dusan Barok

Date: March 21st, 2024
Facilitator: Dusan Barok
Topic: Research methods

The EM GUIDE project hosts 14 internal workshops. These workshops are meant to help the project staff, and occasionally other contributors of the network, to acquire, improve, and exchange skills and knowledge relevant to the participating magazines and/or the network itself.

Understanding effective online research methods is essential for our team, in particular considering the ever-expanding digital landscape and the need for reliable information. We invited Dusan Barok, the founding editor of the artist-run research platform Monoskop, to share some of his tools and techniques.

Dusan provided us with tools for conducting online research and guided us in refining our skills for collecting and organizing pertinent information. Additionally, we took the opportunity to analyze various online magazines, gaining insights into different approaches and styles of content presentation.
